1. Check Chrome Microphone Permissions
Click the lock icon () or mic icon () in the Chrome address bar.
Ensure “Microphone” is set to “Allow”.
If blocked, click Reset permissions and refresh the page.
2. Test Your Microphone on Another Website
Try using your mic on a different site (e.g., MicTest) to rule out app-specific issues.
3. Update Google Chrome
Click ⋮ (Menu) → Help → About Google Chrome.
Install any pending updates and restart Chrome.
4. Clear Cache & Cookies
Go to Chrome Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data.
Select Cached images/files and Cookies, then click Clear Data.
5. Check System Microphone Settings
Windows: Go to Settings → System → Sound → Input.
Mac: Open System Preferences → Sound → Input.
Ensure the correct mic is selected and volume is up.
6. Disable Conflicting Extensions
Type
chrome://extensions
in the address bar.Disable extensions one by one (especially voice/mic-related ones).
7. Reset Chrome Settings
Go to Settings → Reset Settings → Restore to Default.
Still Not Working?
Try another browser (Firefox/Edge) to check if it’s a Chrome-specific issue.
Reinstall Chrome or update your audio drivers.
